There has been such an incredible outpouring of support for this cause that we hit our original goal of 94,000 in 5 days. We decided to raise the goal because there is so much more good this collaboration can do with additional funding. Please consider helping us reach our new goal.
The Becca Schmill Foundation and "Becca's Gift" were created in 2020 in memory of Rebecca Mann Schmill by her adoring family.
Becca was a beautiful and caring person with a gift for making those around her feel loved and appreciated. She was funny, adventurous and willful, and had a smile that could light up a room. She also had a strong sense of equity and fairness.
In memorializing Becca, her family is committed to funding research and advocacy efforts with a high potential for improving the lives of adolescents struggling with a variety of challenges. Children today are in need and deserve community services that are equal to the times they are living in.
Toward that goal, "Becca's Gift" for 2021 is being designated to the Boston Medical Center Catalyst Clinic for research to advance adolescent substance use treatment. We have set a very ambitious goal of $94,000 in honor of the 94,000 American lives lost to substance use disorder in 2020.
