Welcome to the Fundraising Paige!
Welcome to Paige Kouba's fundraising page for the 2020 Boston Triathlon, in support of Boston Medical Center! Thank you for stopping by :)
I lived in Boston for six years before leaving for graduate school, and I will always feel connected to this wonderful city and its people. Boston was and is my home away from home. Though my plans to work in Massachusetts this summer have been affected by COVID-19, there has never been a better time to raise funds for healthcare workers in Boston!
Last year, we helped raise more than $115,000 for Boston Medical Center's community health programs. In 2020, Team BMC is donating all its proceeds to the COVID-19 relief effort. While the Boston Tri itself has been postponed, the fundraiser is still happening, and we need your help.
Why the Triathlon?
As a varsity track and XC runner at Harvard, and then as a professional runner for the Saucony Freedom Track Club, I got to know the best of Boston on foot, training every day along the Charles River path. Last summer, my friend Emma convinced me to sign up for my first-ever triathlon with Team BMC. Thanks to my sponsors (mostly friends and family!) I was able to raise $500, and I took 3rd place in my age group on race day. Since then, back in California, I've joined the UC Davis Triathlon club, where I've made great friends and learned a ton about how to compete in this sport. I'm sad I won't be able to compete in my second Boston Tri this year, but I look forward to participating whenever it happens next.
In lieu of the race, I have decided to turn my fundraising page into a vote on whether or not I should shave my head. You can flag your donation (in the box for "Recognition Name") as either Team Hair or Team Bald, and I will honor the request of whichever team is in the lead on Monday, May 25! :)
Please help me support BMC's effort to help COVID-affected workers and communities in Boston.
Thank you so much for visiting my page, and I hope you'll consider donating to this important cause. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
