Welcome to Noah's Rodman Ride fundraising page!
Welcome to my personal fundraising page for the 2019 Rodman Ride, in support of Boston Medical Center!
As a pediatrician at Boston Medical Center, I am acutely aware that the health of my patients is not simply the result of their genetic and biologic makeup. Health starts in our homes, schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities. Our health is in part determined by the social and physical environment in which we are raised, the quality of our schooling, and the cleanliness of our water, food, and air.
A personal area of interest of mine has always been understanding the role that toxic stress, things like physical and emotional abuse and food insecurity, plays in the health and development of a growing child. This is why I am riding in support of the Child Witness to Violence Project (CWVP). CWVP works to identify young children who witness acts of significant violence and to help these children heal from the trauma by providing developmentally appropriate counseling for them and for their families. CWVP is staffed by a multi-cultural, multi-lingual staff of social workers, psychologists, early childhood specialists, and a consulting pediatrician and consulting attorney. It is run under the auspices of the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Boston Medical Center.
By providing a donation to Team BMC you will do your part to ensure that BMC and The Child Witness to Violence Project continue to provide exceptional care, without exception making a difference in the lives of our littlest patients.
Thanks for your support!
